What kinds of equipment do you help with?

Home monitoring (blood-pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, thermometers, glucose meters and test supplies, scales), respiratory supplies (nebulizers and accessories, CPAP and BiPAP mask supplies) and daily-care supplies. See home monitoring for details.

Why don't you list products and prices?

The right choice depends on the person, the instructions from their clinician and their plan. We'd rather talk through the category with you than have you guess from a list.

Do I need a prescription?

Many monitoring devices can be purchased without one. Items billed to insurance usually require an order from your clinician. We'll tell you which is which.

Will my insurance cover a monitor or supplies?

Some categories may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance when medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage varies by plan and item, and the insurer makes the final decision. Call us to talk through the questions to ask.

Wrist or upper-arm blood-pressure monitor?

Upper-arm monitors are generally recommended for home use, with a cuff sized to your arm. Ask your clinician if they have a preference.

How do I know my cuff size?

Measure around the middle of your upper arm with a soft tape measure. We'll match the measurement to the right cuff range.

Can you tell me if my readings are normal?

No — we help with equipment and technique, but your clinician interprets readings. If a reading comes with symptoms that worry you, call your clinician, or 911 in an emergency.

My glucose strips don't fit my meter. What happened?

Strips are specific to each meter family. Bring or describe your meter and we'll help sort out compatible supplies.

How often should nebulizer or CPAP parts be replaced?

It depends on the part and the instructions. We'll go over typical replacement schedules and what your plan may allow.

Do you work with physician practices?

Yes. Practices can choose “Physician practice” on our contact form or call us to talk through how patients should reach us.

Can I call on behalf of a family member?

Of course. Many of our conversations are with caregivers. For anything involving health or insurance details, we may need the patient's permission.

Is it safe to send health information through your website?

Please don't. Our form isn't meant for medical details or insurance numbers. Tell us how to reach you and we'll discuss details by phone. See our Notice of Privacy Practices.
